Aakarshan International Pvt. Ltd. (AIPL), was established on June 30, 2005, by Milan Thapa and Bishnu Bahadur K.C. The company  was named “Aakarshan,” meaning “attraction” in Nepali, to reflect both a strategic marketing vision and its core mission of connecting leading employers with Nepal's most talented workforce. 

Since its founding, Aakarshan has continuously strengthened its recruitment practices by upholding the highest standards of professionalism, safeguarding workers’ rights, and operating with integrity. Between 2005 and 2015, the company operated under a hybrid recruitment model before fully transitioning to a 100% ethical, employer-pays model. This shift enabled Aakarshan to deploy thousands of workers at no cost to candidates, reinforcing its reputation as a trusted recruitment partner for both employers and migrant workers.

Aakarshan’s recruitment processes are aligned with internationally recognized ethical recruitment frameworks, including the International Labour Organization (ILO) principles, the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) IRIS standards, the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct, and On the Level (OTL) standards.
