Our History
Aakarshan International Pvt. Ltd. (AIPL), founded on June 30, 2005, by Milan Thapa and Bishnu Bahadur K.C., was named “Aakarshan,” meaning “attraction” in Nepali, both as a marketing strategy and a reflection of its mission: connecting top employers with the best talent Nepal has to offer. Since its inception, Aakarshan has steadily enhanced its recruitment practices, maintaining high standards, ensuring worker rights, and upholding integrity. Initially operating under a hybrid model between 2005 and 2015, the company fully transitioned to a 100% ethical, employer-pays model, deploying thousands of candidates free of cost and establishing itself as a trusted partner for employers and migrant workers alike.
Aakarshan’s recruitment approach aligns with global frameworks, including ILO principles, IOM’s IRIS standards, the RBA Code of Conduct, and On the Level (OTL) standards. Through rigorous due diligence, compliance checks, and clear, accessible candidate information, the company ensures transparency, fairness, and respect for workers’ rights at every step. This commitment to ethical recruitment has become central to Aakarshan’s culture, distinguishing it as a benchmark in fair and responsible labor mobility practices.
